As part of the Chain Gang Challenge, six YA writers will combine their talents to bring you one story that will go out on the Short Story Day Africa website and Yoza Mobi. At 10am on Short Story Day, the multi-talented author of Signed, Hopelessly in Love, Lauri Kubutisile, will kick off the story from her desk in Botswana. An hour later, Kevin Shelly, writing on location at The Book Lounge in Cape Town, will take over. Where the story will go, no one will know until the award-winning author of The Elephant in the Room, Maya Fowler, adds the final full-stop.
Go along to the Book Lounge if you’d like to watch Kevin Shelly, S.A. Partridge, Aoife Lennon Richie, Sarah Lotz and Maya Fowler in action. This is the only time writing is a spectator sport. You may even be able to corner them afterward and get some tips to help you with your Young in the City YA competition entry.
