Dr Deena Padayachee is doctor and writer from Durban. He is the author of`THE VISITOR,’ broadcast by the SABC in 1991 in their short story slot. It was published in Tribute magazine, in the PEN International journal (1991), in Mayibuye and translated into Tamil and Hindi and published in India. The tale has also been anthologised by the University of Cambridge in their book, Writing from South Africa. Dr Padayachee was a recipient of the Nadine Gordimer Prize in 1991 for a short story, The Finishing Touch. In 1994 his book, What’s Love got to do with it? was awarded the Olive Schreiner Prize.
