Tiah Beautement has been a valuable member of the Short Story Day Africa team since 2012 when she came on board to manage the Kids Project. She managed SSDA Kids until 2014, publishing two anthologies, Rapunzel is Dead and Follow the Road, of short stories produced by young writers. In total, she published forty-four stories from writers under the age of eighteen, some of whom are now emerging adult writers. Her wonderful workshops with the children in Mossel Bay, her home town, and project management of children's workshops further afield, were designed to free children's creativity. Tiah and her Dino earrings delighted kids of all ages.
Tiah was also responsible for Short Story Day Africa's social media sites. She interviewed writers for the #WriterWednesday feature, ran #WriterPrompt online events and assisted with many other aspects of the project, including being part of the team that put together Feast, Famine & Potluck, Terra Incognita and Water. Her contribution will be missed.
New opportunities have arisen for Tiah, and she is moving on. Please join us in wishing her much success and happiness for the future.
